"Design is a process of refinement" - is the mantra I remember most clearly from my college professors. Design is also universal. Everyone has a right to dream up new business and launch products. There is always a need for innovation. However, for the past decades following our consumption-driven mode of living, we've engaged in a linear type of business model where we design, manufacture and sell products and services without thinking too much of what will happen when it's done, or broken, or unused. We tend material things and opportunities away.

Where some see trash, we - and the clients we work with - see value in the materials and energy. As an industrial designer, I see a creative challenge to design our products while thinking about the entire life cycle of a product. Combine that with new regulatory frameworks, geopolitical challenges and natural disasters* affecting supply chains, the result is not a* quick fix. Juggling these topics requires not only process thinking, a global vision and in-depth understanding of key industries, but also collaboration, communication and working towards a common goal.

Recraft Venture's goal is to provide teams with this insight, connect the dots and identify the risks and opportunities down the road. What motivates me is the ability to explore new storylines with entrepreneurs as we develop these new models together. The vision is to promote and enable an equitable, healthy and balanced community for us to thrive in.
